Great Dane

This friendly and patient dog ranks number 16 with the AKC. This tall dog (76-82 cm high) has a life expectancy of 7-10 years.  This easygoing dog is fun to live with if you feel you can take on a dog with such an imposing size and weight (63-80 kg).  He is taller than most dogs and if he stands on his hind legs, also taller than most people.  Danes have a sweet nature but are also alert and able to guard the home.  They are patient with children and love to please their owners.  This energetic dog loves to go on walks and hikes and needs plenty of exercise.  He will respond well to training and accept all of the affection you have for him.
