The Weimaraner (Silver Ghost) was bred as a gundog in Germany but makes a great family pet.  As long as he gets enough exercise, he will be a fun dog to have as a companion.  They have high energy and a strong prey drive so they need to be trained and socialized from a young age.  These dogs can almost appear human.  William Wegman, a photographer who uses wigs, costumes, and props, shows off the breed in his photographs that appear in books and calendars.  The Weimaraner’s name comes from Germany where he was originally bred – the Court of Weimar.  The nobleman wanted a dog who was both courageous and intelligent.
